Ya betul. Paling takut kalau pilot yang cuai. Low risk but huge consequent.

di Malaysia ni hari2 ada orang mati accident mostly sebab kecuaian, mengantuk, main hp etc. Kesalahan pemandu mabuk nampak lebih besar sebab minum arak itu haram, main hp itu halal. Tapi permasalahannya di sini ialah apa hukuman untuk kecuaian sehingga membunuh.

sebab seseorang itu kaki minum makanya dia akan support drunk driving you think?

then kalau seseorang itu kuat bersenggama automatik dia support perogol lah?

Less than 0.5% of fatal crashes involve drunk drivers, says Loke

Transport minister Loke Siew Fook says this year, only two of such cases were recorded as of June.

Transport minister Loke Siew Fook said his ministry, in collaboration with the home ministry and the police, has continued to strengthen its awareness and advocacy campaigns as well as conduct enforcement operations nationwide.
KUALA LUMPUR:Fatal accidents caused by road users under the influence of alcohol made up less than 0.5% of all fatal road accidents nationwide between 2022 and June this year, said transport minister Loke Siew Fook.

He said that in 2022, there were 14 fatal road accidents caused by drunk road users, which is 0.23% out of 6,080 cases of all types of accidents recorded that year.

As for the following year, only 13 cases, or 0.2% of 6,473 fatal road accident cases were recorded, while only 12 cases, or 0.19% of 6,464 fatal road accidents were recorded in 2024.

Meanwhile, as of June this year, only two fatal accidents involving drunk road users were recorded, accounting for just 0.06% of the 3,087 fatal accidents of all types.

The minister also said there were 2,306 cases in 2022 in which legal action was taken against offenders under the Road Transport Act 1987 (RTA), followed by 1,989 cases in 2023, 1,589 cases in 2024, and 508 cases as of June this year.

Loke provided these figures in a written parliamentary reply to Wan Razali Wan Nor (PN-Kuantan), who asked for the number of road accident cases involving drunk drivers, and the number of cases subjected to legal action from Jan 2022 till June this year.

Wan Razali had also asked the minister on measures taken by the government.

Loke explained that his ministry, in collaboration with the home ministry and the police, has continued to strengthen its awareness and advocacy campaigns as well as conduct enforcement operations nationwide.

He said the road transport department has implemented various initiatives, including the SAFER awareness campaign and public service announcements through social and mass media.

“To date, over 600 awareness programmes have been organised, involving various segments of society,” Loke said.

The minister also noted that amendments to the RTA, which took effect on Oct 23, 2020, provided for much heavier penalties for offenders – with punishments ranging from 10 to 20 years’ imprisonment, fines between RM50,000 and RM150,000, and disqualification from holding a driving licence for up to 20 years, depending on the category of offence.
