Adobe Photoshop 7.0 is one of the most popular and versatile graphics programs on the market. It possesses a multitude of tools and functions, often providing several ways to perform the same task. One example is the ability to blend two photographs together smoothly. It supports Windows 7 Ultimate and other Windows 7 editions.

This effect is often used in movie posters and ads. Normally this is accomplished by using masks and gradients, but there is a much simpler way to blend the images.

Step 1
Load two images onto your computer, either by connecting your camera to the computer or by inserting the media the images are stored on and transferring the files. You can also scan the images if you only have printed versions.

Step 2
Open Photoshop. Select "File" then click "Open." In the dialogue box browse to the images you loaded, hold down the "Control" key, select them both and open them.

Step 3
Choose one of the images and select "Select" from the menu. Click "Select All." Now go to "Edit" and click "Copy."

Step 4
Go to the other image you opened and select "Edit" then "Paste."

Step 5
Select "Edit" then "Transform" and click "Scale." Adjust the size of the image you pasted in so it is at least as large as the background image.

Step 6
Choose the "Rectangular" selection tool from the toolbar and, in the options at the top, change the "Feather" to a high number (100-200). The exact number you need will depend on the size and resolution of the image.

Step 7
Select the top half of the image. Hit "Delete" on your keyboard. If the blending is not quite the way you want, select "Edit" and click "Undo." Now change the "Feather" up or down, depending on your preference, and hit delete again.

Step 8
Right-click on the top layer in the "Layers" panel and select "Merge Down." Select "File" and click "Save." Save your image as a high resolution JPEG.
